I would like to be able to grab the station IDs that are within a specified range of a primary station. For instance, I would like to know what stations are within 10 or 20km of my station.

I think that would fall under the REST API. There would need to be a method to search on latitude and longitude.
This would be useful and I know one user (Tony) that would like this for his Sailing Club in Australia.
The web socket interface really isn’t an API as you can only turn on and off subscriptions to data and events.

I like the idea. One could use this to find stations in the four directions and check lightning strikes.

It would work also for gathering data for generating a SAGER local forecast… among other uses.
