Indiegogo Update #11

Dear WeatherFlow Backers, We hope you are enjoying this holiday season, spending time with family and loved ones. Here’s a short update as we look forward into the new year.

AIR & SKY: Technical development and testing is going well and we’re still on track for delivery in March to Field Testers and May to all other other backers.

Regarding the hub: Many of you have asked questions related to the hub mentioned in our last update. To be clear, the hub will be included at no additional cost. The hub is a small device about half the size of a soda can which sits inside your house plugged into any outlet. The hub communicates directly with the AIR and SKY and future devices via sub-1GHz radio (915 or 868 MHz depending on where you live), providing dramatically increased range and lower power consumption. The hub can connect directly to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) so you can receive data continuously when in range with no Internet required. The hub connects via WiFi to your home network in order to publish data to our secure weather servers. This allows you to view your data from anywhere – online or via mobile app. This connection, along with our cloud-based API (REST and WebSocket) enables interaction with third-party data services like Wunderground and Weather Display as well as smart home platforms including IFTTT, Samsung Smartthings, Amazon Alexa, Nest and more. Direct, secure local data access between the hub and third-party devices will be available both via BLE and WiFi.

CES: Following this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) January 5-8? WeatherFlow will be on showcase in the IndieGogo booth as a VIP campaigner. Also, David St. John our CIO will be speaking on a smart home tech panel. Stop by and say hi if you’re there!

Thanks again for your support, your feedback, and your patience. Enjoy the Holidays! - the WeatherFlow Team
