I’ve been noodling around with home automation since the late 1990’s starting with X-10 setups, used Homeseer both Version 1.x and 2.x, but struggled with HS3 until finally giving up and moving over to Insteon/UDI isy994i based on a co-worker’s recommendation because it ‘just works’. Other than lighting and HVAC control, I’ve been actively looking for a way to fully leverage my mcsSprinklers Irrigation system, and using a local weather station for micro-climate scheduling. (That’s what brought me to WeatherFlow, thank you Gary Funk!)
I work as a pre-sales datacenter storage consultant for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and I’m considered to be the go-to guy for complex storage projects, as well as knowing ‘who to ask’ when an answer to a problem eludes most of my worldwide co-workers. But, this job is really just a hobby I get paid nicely to do!
