SKY shows continuous rain but it's not raining (cause = pole vibration in strong winds)

Btw, ive put on 1.5 mm of rain since typing my last in blue sky

My initial reaction is that it is due to the mounting location. That isn’t a very solid place to mount, especially on the corner of the roof. Vibration of the roof can translate to the SKY unit.

I have a fiberglass telescoping flag pole I use on my RV when I go camping. With the SKY mounted on the pole and the pole tied to my cyclone fence, the fence vibration would trigger false rain. Mounted in the pole mount on my RV, however, it rarely if ever get false rain events even though it flails around quite a bit.

Thanks David. Good advice! I think that i will have to move the unit, maybe at ground level perhaps.

Cheers

I just noticed the rain inaccuracy when we had 30-50 mph wind. I saw that it was saying heavy rain when it was warm, dry and windy. Maybe I need to address the sturdiness of the mount. But I’m glad there aren’t any accumulation readings.
