For the last couple of weeks my Sky has warned me of lightning >22miles. So of course I look on my WX app for a storm. Most recently the closest large storm (tonight) was up around Greenville/Asheville which is 4hrs away. 120+ miles. Since we are along the coast (Charleston), I guess it could be possible it is an ocean storm but no radar coverage. Still NWS-KCHS Doppler should cover around 100 miles offshore. The thing is, I can’t find a time it gave me an indication there was no storm, only a storm that was super far away. So maybe I’m impressed by this!
PS, meant to say it has absolutely no problem with storms closer at all!
