Odd observation count

I think reporting missing packets is more accurate the reporting received packets. In perfect world we would see 1440 packets in 24 hours. But due to the clocks in the Air and Sky there are times only 1439 packets are sent. So when we see 1439 did we drop a packet or not?

Reporting missing packets takes into account a longer packet time.

I am guessing the status item ‘Observation Count (last 24 hours)’ might be looking at 3 hours but I sometimes get numbers over 180:

Can anyone confirm what it is counting for my Sky?
