New Tempest install in Maine, loving it so far but curious how everyone is dealing with ice build up. We had temps just below freezing the past 12 hours, with freezing rain / sleet / snow mix coming down. About a quarter inch of chunky, soft ice built up on top of the sensor.
Right now the unit is installed on the porch railing so it’s easy to walk out and wipe it off, but I’m planning to move it to a pole mount when the ground thaws. It’ll be impossible (or much more difficult) to remove the ice then.
Appreciate any thoughts!
