Just because I find this hyper cool a link to a movie and the article. Lofar is basically a bunch of non-directional antennas, but a big bunch. By correlating the data from many antennas they can create amazing pictures of the universe. But these antennas also pick up lightning. They can determine an electronic discharge from 30 km away with a accuracy of 1 meter horizontally and 20 m vertically, with a time resolution of only 20 ns. Amazing. Of course it has nothing to do with weatherflow, but I thought you might find this interesting anyway.
