Lightning Detection from unusual source

Now I am absolutely sure you will have a tendency to laugh at this but it is a serious question.

(Getting the courage to proceed)

A few minutes ago we were notified of lightning. But there is no storm activity for hundreds of miles around us. But… we have a huge number of, you guessed it, lightning bugs, flying all around us recently.

(I can hear you laughing already).

So the serious question is will the “air” device detect lightning bugs?

Ok, I’m outta here. I’ll be listening from afar.

Cheers

It’s extremely unlikely that the little fliers caused the event. I would look for an electrical disturbance.

Lightning bugs use a chemical reaction to make their lights - bioluminescence, not electricity. I don’t see how they could affect the sensor.
