Interesting graphing artifacts

A SKY from the original Indiegogo campaign had a UV sensor failure and soon after a Wind Sensor failure. The wind sensor would occasionally wake back up for a short period of time. This gave some interesting wind graphs. These are clear examples of why I always reminded my math and physics students to make sure their mathematical answers fit with reality. The smoothing, connect the dots mathematics used for the WeatherFlow/Tempest graphs has some unavoidable artifacts which can be interesting at times. The first two graphs are from the failing SKY and the last one is after the replacement arrived. Thank you @WFsupport.

I reported the same issue a long time ago. It’s just a wrong way of interpolation.

Gotta love Cubic Splines… when they’re good… they’re good. But when they’re bad… look out!
