Feature request - add elevation data to device status or observation UDP data

Hi folks. I haven’t had time to write up a longer answer, so here’s the short story: Although the arguments in this thread are well-taken, and we have not dismissed the possibility of doing so in the future (it is technically possible), we currently have no plans to add more metadata storage to the Hub.

Thanks @dsj! It’s encouraging that the answer isn’t a definitive no. I realize that there are a lot of more important things you need to be working on and this type of request isn’t anywhere near the top of the list.
