Roger that.
Did it.
Nada.
I think all is the same
Gary,
I have my ID and password set up on the Upload tab with āActiveā set on both the top checkbox and the one associated with the PWS setup. On the Config tab, I have it set to my production WF hub. Citizen process keeps restarting. I donāt see anything on the logs about this restart. Maybe Iām not looking in the right place? Nothing is being uploaded to the PWS servers as far as I can tell.
It might have something to do with the fact that I have two complete WF setups: my initial field testers hub and the newer production hub. Iām thinking it might be time to retire the field tester setup and migrate totally to the production hub. I had been waiting for my original field tester AIR batteries to run outā¦ 613 days uptime and still showing 3.43V on the batteries!
Having the two hubs sending out UDP broadcasts on port 50222 messes up stuff with the ISY node servers as well.
Post a screenshot of the Upload and Config page.
Here you goā¦
Iām wondering if thereās an issue where it doesnāt know which hubās data to send. Or does it just choose the primary device?
I donāt have the code for PWS finished. Thatās why it is not working. CWOP is the only one active.
Aha. Ok, that makes sense then. Definitely not an emergency. Iāll look into CWOP.
This was designed to be a simple application to capture and store the raw data. It grew a little beyond thatā¦
The updatefiles is failing but I cannot tell why
2018-12-01 14:44:43 Starting UpdateFiles v1.7.14.023
2018-12-01 14:44:43 Getting files for update 1.7.14.027
2018-12-01 14:44:43 Update Files error
Error: Command failed: bash /home/pi/WFArchive/wfarchive/script/updatefiles.sh /home/pi/WFArchive/wfarchive /log/UpdateFiles.log 1.7.14.027
Did you run it a second time after the first failure?
run this in a terminal window from the archive folder.
bash /home/pi/WFArchive/wfarchive/script/updatefiles.sh /home/pi/WFArchive/wfarchive /log/UpdateFiles.log 1.7.14.027
I did run that. Is it cause my folder name is still wfarchive?
/home/pi/WFArchive/wfarchive
/log/UpdateFiles.log
1.7.14.027
Change to wfarchive folder and run again!
The folder name is fine. Iām not sure why you have a folder under a folder.
When I first installed, created the WF dir then ran install and it created wfarchive (or I specified) cannot rememberā¦
Anyway, I did the āinstallā script and re-entered config stuff and tada!
Everything is now there.
Good, run updatefiles to ensure you actually have the latest.
Yes sir, did that x 3. Now I know it is almost dark out!

So I set up a CWOP ID (FW4261) and it seems to be ok on the ArchiveSW side. Only issue is that that my packets arenāt being received by the CWOP websites. The last one in the list that shows up is FW4260. No errors in the citizen log, just apparently successful packets sent every 10 minutes.
Should I use cwop1.ou.edu or cwop.aprs.net with port 14580 or port 23?
All the instructions I have founc state to use:
cwop.aprs.net with port 14580
I have the transmit time set to 10 minutes. I have found that CWOP does not always record every packet sent. I do not now why.
Gary,
Looking into this some more, I have an idea of why my data might not be received properly on the CWOP server, but it makes me wonder why nobody else is having the issue. Does yours work?
I found a ādecoderā for strings that looks very similar to what you have put together:
https://weather.gladstonefamily.net/aprswxnet.html
I got assigned the station ID of FW4261 from the CWOP site. I skimmed through the received strings from the FWXXXX type stations on the site:
http://www.wxqa.com/activefwd/C20181207.txt
For example, from an accepted string with an ID just one number less than mine (thereās no space or carriage return, it just seems to wrap when pasting into the forum):
FW4260>APRS,TCPXX*,qAX,CWOP-7:@072345z4012.15N/10038.16W_336/002g005t023r000p000P000h78b10338L....DsIP
And then the string that ArchiveSW sent:
FW4261>APRS,TCPIP*:/080259z3658.05N/12152.93W_024/0.73g1.65t057r000p000P000h82b10222L000eArchiveSW_1.7.13_WeatherFlow
Seems like all accepted string does not include the decimals for wind speeds (they are presumably rounded to an integer). Looks like the strings that ArchiveSW are sending out include the floating point decimal. Maybe thatās the issue?
Then thereās the header info, which I canāt seem to find anything about. Sure looks like you followed the guide that I linked to above. Not sure why the other strings in the station data link look different.
If you already knew all of this, sorry to waste your time. If not, I hope itās helpful in debugging!
Cheers,
Todd
You are correct. I am fixing that issue now.
just activated cwop. Canāt say their system is āuser friendlyā ā¦
still trying to figure out if my data is received, accepted ā¦ gosh ā¦ they really need a quick KISS course
mmm :Weather Conditions At FW4267
gives nothing ā¦ can I look locally if it sends anything ?
How long before first data should show up ?
